How much maintenance does a living wall require?
Living walls are stunning, living, changing vertical landscapes but they do require consistent, intelligent and careful maintenance to ensure they thrive. Benholm Group are proud to design, create and install living walls across Scotland and the UK. To give you an added peace of mind, we also provide maintenance services and surrounding lighting if needed.
How long does it take to install a project?
This all depends on the planting specification and complexity of the installation. Most installation are carried out within 4 or 5 weeks from order but sometimes it can be quicker if it includes items we have in stock. However, our administration team will keep in touch with you so that you know where everything is up to and when to expect our team on site. If you have a specific deadline for an opening etc. we will always do everything we can to meet your timescales.
What is biophilic design?
Biophilic design is the incorporation of nature and natural elements into the ‘built’ environment. You’ve probably already felt the benefits of it without even realising. It can be found anywhere from offices and hotels to the interior design and external landscaping of people’s homes or public spaces. We work with businesses, architects and interior designers across the UK to bring biophilic benefits to the inhabitants of their buildings.
Do you offer a rental option?
Yes. A rental package is an ideal solution for a lot of organisations because it removes any need for a significant initial capital outlay and instead spreads out your costs over the term of the contract – normally three years. It also provides the flexibility to change and update the specification should your space change in the future and you’re not stuck with the planters you bought a few years earlier. A rental package includes our full maintenance service to ensure your displays are always in peak condition. Rental is normally invoiced quarterly in advance.
What does your maintenance service include?
Benholm Group provide an ongoing plant maintenance service. Our talented team of technicians will visit your premises regularly to ensure your plants and flowers always look vibrant and healthy. High quality maintenance produces plants which look attractive, vibrant, healthy, and thriving and this has been proven to have a positive effect on staff and visitors. If you have any questions about your office plant maintenance, please call us on 01324 861 300 to speak with a member of our maintenance service team or email email@example.com
How do you water a living wall?
It depends on what planting you use. If we use our Nordik Moss then this doesn’t require watering as it is a preserved product. With living plants we can incorporate an irrigation system to provide just the right levels of water for its environment and of course our maintenance team can visit regularly to ensure plants are kept at their healthy and vibrant best. Of course, sometimes living plants won’t be the best solution, and in those cases we can use our range of artificial plants – which are so realistic whilst being almost maintenance-free.
What are the health benefits of plants?
Including plants in your interior actively contributes to cleaner air by converting CO2 into oxygen and by converting volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into compounds which the plants then feed on to remain healthy. Research shows that plants have a positive effect on the way people feel, they help to create a feeling of vitality, lifting spirits and creating happiness. Lush, healthy plants can make people feel better. Plants are also seen to have a positive effect in the hospitality and spa industry. For instance, those who go to a spa want to leave feeling relaxed, plants can enhance their experience resulting in them leaving calm. Plants bring so many benefits to their environments and the people in them, but noise reduction properties are less widely known as they also absorb, diffract and reflect sound…as plants are multi-layered they help deflect and absorb sound from the room.
Adding plants in your space is an effective way of creating a focal point that also helps to improve the health and well-being of everyone inside. To discover more about Benholm Group or call us on 01324 861 300 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.

I want a living green wall in my building - what do you recommend?
Living, green walls are an increasingly popular choice for interior walls – As ethical as they are aesthetically pleasing, the plants in your green wall actively remove CO2 from the atmosphere, enriching the air with oxygen. Our global network of growers gives us a range of plants to choose from that allows us to design green walls to complement any setting and industry. We offer bespoke green wall design and installation across Scotland and the wider UK. We provide a full design service taking into account the climatic conditions (including specifying supplementary lighting) and the overall desired effect. If your environment isn’t suitable to keep living plants healthy and fresh, then we can provide an artificial green wall. The authentic look and feel of our artificial plants make it possible to bring the striking visual effect of artificial green walls to spaces where living green walls would not survive. This makes them ideal for high traffic areas, low light environments, or anywhere difficult to access for maintenance.
