Benholm Group is looking for a confident and motivated Business Development Representative to join our growing team at our head office near Falkirk.
For over 30 years, we’ve been helping organisations across the UK transform workplaces, hospitality venues, retail destinations and public spaces through the creative use of planting.
The Role
Working as part of our Business Development team, you’ll help us identify and develop new opportunities across the UK.
This is a lead generation and relationship-building role rather than a traditional sales position. Your focus will be on opening doors, connecting with decision-makers, understanding where Benholm could add value and securing qualified opportunities for our Directors and sales team to progress.

About You
We’re looking for someone who is confident speaking to new people and genuinely enjoys uncovering opportunities.
You’ll ideally have previous experience in telesales, telemarketing, internal sales or business development, along with a proven track record of working towards targets and KPIs.
You’ll be a strong communicator with a professional telephone manner, good organisational skills and the resilience and persistence needed to build relationships over time.
Previous experience in the planting or interiors industry isn’t required. Full training will be provided.

Hours of work: normally between 6:00am – 3:00pm, 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Flexible days may be available – include your preferred days on your application.
You’ll start and end your day at our modern Head Office, which is easily accessible from the M8/M9 motorways by car and is circa. 3 miles from Bathgate and 5 miles from Falkirk.
A basic salary of £31,500 is on offer in addition to an attractive benefits package and job security.

Reporting to the Head of Maintenance, you’ll be responsible for visiting client premises to maintain live plant displays at assigned customer sites and in line with Benholm quality standards and timescales.
If you don’t have any previous experience with horticulture, floristry or biophilic design, that’s ok, we’ll set you up for success with full training, support and a comfortable uniform!
We’d like to hear from you if your customer service skills are excellent, you care about delivering consistently high-quality work and have an interest in plants and horticulture.
We would expect you’re pro-active, have a can-do attitude and are a clear communicator. Your attention to detail is admirable and you’d be willing to work at heights, if needed (e.g. working off a step ladder etc.)
Key Responsibilities:
Driving to your assigned client sites to maintain live plant displays, so a full UK Driving Licence is essential with no more than 5 points, and no criminal convictions.
Loading and unloading of vans including any associated tools & equipment.
You’ll have a variety or work, including inspecting plant arrangements and managing watering, pruning, general maintenance of plant displays, maintaining display design and replacing plants when needed. Whatever you’re doing, it’ll be interesting and fun and you’ll be part of a fabulous business that supports your career development.
We’re an agile team, so you may be asked to support in other areas of the business, like production or installations, but only when you’re trained to do so.

Products range from exotic plant displays to entrance arches, framed moss wall panels, bespoke built-in planters to high level trailing features, giant green walls to bespoke branded signage.
We’d like to hear from you if you have excellent customer service skills, creative flair and floristry skills.
We would expect you to be pro-active, take full responsibility for any installation you have assigned to you, have a can-do attitude to finding solutions, and be a clear communicator. Your attention to detail is admirable and you’d be willing to work at heights if needed (e.g. working off a step ladder etc.).

Based at our HQ near Falkirk, you’ll travel to client sites throughout the UK, delivering high-quality installations from moss walls to branded signage. Full training provided — all you need is a driving licence, a practical mindset, and a flair for craftsmanship.
You’ll take pride in seeing each installation through from start to finish, using creative problem-solving skills to ensure every project is completed on time and to the highest standards for both clients and colleagues. The role also involves managing any additional team members on site, minimising material waste, completing installation reports, and contributing ideas to help improve our services and processes.
