We’re pleased to have contributed to Holborn Workplace in Aberdeen, a project by MFA Home Design which has won the 2026 British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) Award for Scotland & Northern Ireland – Commercial.

Located within Diligent House in Aberdeen city centre, the 283 sqm office has been transformed from a dated corporate environment into a contemporary workplace designed to support staff wellbeing, collaboration and productivity.

MFA Home Design’s approach focused on creating a calm, welcoming environment through a carefully considered combination of natural materials, bespoke furnishings, architectural detailing and biophilic design. Previously underused areas have been reimagined as functional spaces for employees to work, meet and connect.

Benholm Group contributed to the biophilic elements throughout the workplace, supplying planting that complements the interior’s refined material palette while introducing natural texture, colour and greenery.

The planting scheme includes floorstanding plants, trough planters positioned throughout the open-plan workspaces, and preserved moss features incorporated into the boardroom table and architectural wall detailing. Together, these elements help soften the contemporary interiors and create a connection to nature across the working environment.

The completed project demonstrates how thoughtful interior design and integrated planting can work together to create workplaces that are both visually appealing and practical for everyday use.

Congratulations to MFA Home Design on this well-deserved recognition. We’re proud to have played a part in bringing this award-winning workplace to life.
