The Mix Awards North return on 3rd December 2025 at Manchester Central. This is one of the most anticipated celebrations of commercial interior design across the north of the UK and Ireland. Judged by an independent panel of architects, designers, consultants and end-users, the awards recognise the very best projects, products and practices shaping the industry today.
This year, we are delighted to see several long-standing partners recognised as finalists. Their inspiring work reflects the innovation, sustainability and people-centred design that continues to drive our industry forward. We are proud to have contributed to a number of the shortlisted projects.
MLA, Finalist: Design Practice of the Year
We are proud to have collaborated with MLA on multiple standout projects including Brodies in Edinburgh, 200 Broomielaw in Glasgow and Morton Fraser in Glasgow.
MLA is a 70-year-strong design practice with studios in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Manchester, bringing together a team of 80 professionals who are united by a commitment to purposeful, design-led impact. Their people-first ethos champions creativity, mentorship and long-term growth. They also hold strong sustainability credentials, including ISO14001 accreditation and an EcoVadis Gold Medal.
With a refreshed brand and an exciting portfolio of recent project wins, MLA continues to lead with imagination, collaboration and commercial insight. This nomination is very well deserved.
JDD, Finalist: Manufacturer of the Year and Product of the Year (Seating)
We have been pleased to support JDD by supplying planting to their Clerkenwell and Glasgow showrooms. These spaces beautifully reflect their values of creativity, craftsmanship and care.
Founded by two friends with a shared passion for design, JDD has grown into a people-driven furniture manufacturer known for innovation and sustainability. Their shortlisted Nita circular seating pods are their most sustainable product to date. They sit alongside other recent launches such as Yume and Nora, all designed with minimal environmental impact and exceptional user wellbeing in mind.
With eight new product releases, a refreshed London flagship and a new Dubai showroom, JDD’s continued growth and values-led approach make them strong contenders in both categories.
Claremont, Finalist: Project of the Year (Workplace Interiors, 30,000 to 70,000 sq ft)
Heineken UK, Edinburgh
We are thrilled to see Claremont’s design for Heineken’s Edinburgh office recognised in the Project of the Year category. This nomination highlights a dynamic, brand-led workspace that celebrates Heineken’s global identity while supporting inclusive and hybrid ways of working.
Benholm Group was appointed to deliver planting across both the Edinburgh and London Heineken offices. These projects were developed at the same time to ensure a consistent look and feel. In Edinburgh, the planting scheme features:
Claremont’s thoughtful design approach is founded on sustainability, adaptive reuse, local sourcing, biophilia and inclusive features such as step-free access, lowered teapoints and enhanced acoustics. The result is a future-ready destination office that balances energy, comfort and brand authenticity.
We continue to provide ongoing maintenance for the planting across both Heineken sites. This ensures every display remains healthy, vibrant and welcoming throughout the year.
