THE BRIEF:
Having worked with Dakota Hotels for many years we were delighted to be briefed by Dakota’s team of Interior Designers and Architects with providing exterior plant displays for their newest hotel in 179 West Regent Street, Glasgow.
THE SOLUTION:
Creation of the displays off-site and the meticulous installation within stringent timescales ensured that when the time came for the opening ceremony, all the planting was in place and creating a stunning effect.
THE RESULTS:
This Dakota Deluxe Hotel in Glasgow recently won the title of “Scotland’s most stylish hotel” in the Scottish Style Awards.
36 polished black window troughs attached with stainless steel fixings into the solid black granite window ledges. The topiary planting was carefully pruned to ensure a clean, sharp and structured image. On the terrace, privacy screening was attractively created by growing ivy trails up a pergola structure festooned with stainless steel wires.
More of the neat, minimalist Buxus hedging and topiary that had been so effective in the other Dakota Hotels.
