PROJECTS » Sainsbury’s bank
THE BRIEF:
In February 2024, Sainsbury’s Bank confirmed their new 10-year lease for the entire fourth floor of 1 New Park Square (1NPS), Edinburgh Park, relocating from their current office on Lochside Avenue. This move marked an exciting step for the bank as they joined other major firms, including Marsh McLennan and GE Vernova, within this state-of-the-art, award-winning office building. Designed with a strong focus on sustainability, wellness, and flexible, collaborative working environments, 1 New Park Square is a Net Zero Carbon office building.
Sainsbury’s Bank required an interior plant solution to enhance the aesthetic appeal of their new space while supporting the wellness goals inherent to the building’s design. The brief specified a visually appealing and sustainable installation, with plant displays that would contribute to the fresh, welcoming atmosphere of their new office.
THE SOLUTION:
Our design team developed a bespoke plant installation designed to integrate seamlessly with Sainsbury’s Bank’s new office environment. Given the sustainability focus of 1 New Park Square, our solution emphasised eco-friendly materials and low-maintenance plants suitable for indoor environments. The solution consisted of:
In addition to the installation, our ongoing maintenance service will ensure that the plant displays remain vibrant and healthy. This includes regular watering, feeding, trimming, and pest control, with a dedicated team assigned to Sainsbury’s Bank to provide consistent care.
THE RESULTS:
The installation was completed smoothly and efficiently, thanks to our close collaboration with Sainsbury’s Bank. The plant displays have transformed the workspace, aligning with our client’s goal of promoting a welcoming, fresh, and visually appealing environment.
Stuart Simpson from Sainsbury’s Bank expressed his satisfaction with the project, stating:
“Firstly, big thanks to Lesley for her support in getting this done efficiently and with no problems. The place looks fantastic with the plants.”
The blend of sustainable materials, well-selected plant species, and meticulous maintenance will continue to support the building’s wellness-driven design and enhance the working experience for Sainsbury’s Bank employees and visitors alike. This project reflects our commitment to creating green, sustainable solutions tailored to client needs while contributing to a healthier, more attractive workspace.
