PROJECTS » VERVE, LONDON
VERVE, LONDON:
Located just moments from Embankment Station, the 3rd floor at Verve sits amongst the mature tree canopy of Victoria Embankment Gardens. The refurbishment embraced this natural setting, using greenery, texture and natural tones to create an open, welcoming environment designed for hybrid working.
Our role was to enhance this connection to nature through interior and exterior planting, working within existing planters to deliver planting schemes that felt integrated, purposeful and aligned with the wider sustainability-led design.
INTERIOR:
The interior planting was installed within the welcome area and hybrid work zone, where desking had been reconfigured to encourage touchdown working and informal collaboration.
A total of six existing integrated planters were planted with lush, live green foliage. Each planter was fitted with GRP liners to ensure full water tightness and protect the surrounding furniture.
The planting scheme featured a mixed selection of foliage plants, including species such as Asplenium, Maranta and Aglaonema, chosen for their texture, durability and suitability for desk-adjacent environments.
Plants were installed at a dense spacing to create immediate impact, soften the architectural desk layout and form a continuous green divider that provides subtle zoning without interrupting sightlines or natural light.
EXTERIOR:
Verve features an outdoor terrace with views across the River Thames and surrounding London landmarks, providing a valuable external space for breakout, informal meetings and downtime.
The exterior planting was designed to enhance this setting, softening the architecture and strengthening the connection between the workplace and its wider environment.
We planted 15 existing trough planters as part of the refurbishment. The client was keen to introduce planting that complemented the brown-toned planters while adding texture, movement and seasonal interest.
We proposed and installed a luscious mix of wild grasses and red-toned planting, including red Cordyline, to create contrast and visual depth. The grasses introduce softness and natural movement, while the red foliage provides structure and year-round colour, resulting in a scheme that feels contemporary, resilient and well suited to an exposed urban setting.
ONGOING MAINTENANCE:
To ensure the planting continues to perform as intended, ongoing maintenance programme was developed to support the long-term performance of both the interior and exterior planting schemes.
This includes:
Regular plant health checks
Watering and feeding to suit seasonal conditions
Pruning and reshaping to maintain clean lines and appropriate scale
Replacement planting where required
On-site quality control checks carried out to ensure standards were upheld
This proactive approach ensures the planting remains healthy, visually consistent and aligned with the original design intent over time.
