Benholm Group was proud to support the Scottish Interior Design Students Showcase, held at The Briggait in Glasgow on 11th and 12th June.
Organised by MLA, the two-day event brought together final-year interior design students from The Glasgow School of Art, DJCAD, Edinburgh College of Art, Edinburgh Napier University and Heriot-Watt University. The showcase provided a valuable platform for emerging talent to present their work, build connections, and engage directly with industry professionals.
With support from sponsors including Sedus, Solace Interiors, Solus, Il Salotto, Optima Systems, Kvadrat, Milliken Textiles, Umbrella Furniture and Novograf, the event featured an inspiring exhibition alongside a programme of talks, seminars and networking opportunities.
Benholm Group enhanced the venue by providing live planting installations throughout The Briggait, creating a vibrant and welcoming environment for attendees. As part of the event’s sustainability programme, our Director, Adrian Byne, also delivered a talk on the role of biophilic design in supporting wellbeing within interior spaces. Adrian’s talk explored our innate connection with nature, highlighting the benefits of biophilia and how biophilic design can serve as a valuable tool for designers to support wellbeing in the spaces they create. He also shared insights into how Benholm Group works with designers and specifiers across the UK to bring these principles to life.
Opportunities like the Scottish Interior Design Students Showcase are rare, making initiatives such as this all the more valuable in nurturing new talent and supporting the future of the design industry. We commend MLA for bringing the showcase to life and look forward to continuing our support for designers as they embark on their professional journeys.
