Yvonne Ciuchta, Commercial Interior Designer at Arch Interiors, has a natural talent for bringing vibrancy, texture, and colour to every project she undertakes.
Interior design wasn’t always part of Yvonne’s plan. In fact, it wasn’t an industry she had ever considered, until someone recognised her creative flair and encouraged her to pursue it. That single moment changed everything.
“I’m so glad they did,” Yvonne reflects. “Otherwise, I would have ended up in a completely different industry.”
Rather than following trends, Yvonne approaches each project as a unique opportunity, guided by the scope, purpose, and individuality of every brief.
With experience spanning cafés and restaurants to dental clinics and gyms, no two projects are ever the same.
“I work across so many different spaces,” she says with a smile. “Each project requires a different mindset, and I really adapt to what the client is looking for.”
For Yvonne, true success lies in meeting, and often exceeding, the needs of her clients. One standout project involved styling an office space where sustainability was central to the brief.
“The client wanted sustainability woven through every element,” she explains.
“From sourcing artwork from local creatives to introducing abundant greenery, it was about creating a space that felt vibrant, thoughtful, and truly unique. Bringing greenery into the office completely transformed it.”
Attention to detail is a defining feature of Yvonne’s design approach.
“I really focus on the finer details of each brief,” she says. “For a recent dental clinic, that meant sourcing very specific colours, textures, and finishes to bring the client’s vision to life.”
Aware that many commercial spaces can feel sterile or intimidating, Yvonne is passionate about changing that perception.
“With the dental clinic, I wanted people to feel calm and comfortable the moment they walked in,” she explains. “That’s where the details matter: artwork, grainy timber textures, and natural materials all help create a sense of ease.”
Biophilic design isn’t just an aesthetic choice for Yvonne; it’s a core part of her design philosophy.
“My inspiration comes from nature,” she says. “I love surprising people by creating commercial spaces that feel warm, intriguing, and immersive. Adding a vibrant green feature wall isn’t just about how it looks, it’s about how people feel within the space.”
Her connection to nature began early, growing up surrounded by house plants.
“Living organisms are so humble,” Yvonne says. “They bring people genuine joy. There’s something incredibly special about watching a plant thrive, it’s more than visual. We should be surrounded by nature, because we are nature.”
While some clients worry about maintaining living plants, Yvonne highlights the wide range of alternatives available and services provided by commercial planting companies like Benholm.
“We don’t always need to use real plants,” she explains. “Preserved greenery, like Nordik Moss walls, can achieve the same effect. There are endless options available: from artificial greenery on cabinetry and cascading planters on desks, to portable plant walls, suspended greenery and moss for sound absorption, to make spaces feel cleaner and more alive.”
For Yvonne, the creative process itself is what she cherishes most.
“Playing with a blank canvas and bringing ideas to life,” she says, “is pure joy.”
