The Social on Royal Exchange Square in Glasgow boasts one of the largest Al Fresco dining spaces in the area.
Not only does the Al Fresco dining facilities at The Social include the paved garden area directly outside the front of this popular restaurant, bar and nightclub, but it also includes a pop-up restaurant a few yards away outside the historic building housing Glasgow's Gallery of Modern Art.
The Social is part of the G1 Group. As part of their ongoing efforts to continually improve the customer experience, a complete refurbishment of the outdoor dining space was planned.
"We've had our outside area for three years and it was getting a bit tired looking. We wanted to freshen it up because there is a lot of competition in the area and we wanted to exceed customer expectations by making it a little bit special."
"We had a rough idea of what we wanted. The team at Benholm was great - they designed it all for us."
Once the final scheme was agreed work began on pulling together all the various aspects of the project so that the final installation could be completed in one visit. On the day of the installation, an early morning start saw the removal of all the old furniture and the swift installation of the new furniture. A complete transformation was effected in under three hours - before the majority of the Glasgow populace had started their day!
The management team at The Social were delighted with the new space. It not only gave a fresh new look to the area, attracting many more new and regular customers, but it also provided extensive marketing and social media opportunities to promote the restaurant to an even larger audience.
"We got a full refurbishment of the area including new planters. The whole area has been transformed and is now much more eye-catching."
